Alexander Wang introduces heat-sensitive colour-changing clothing

Alexander Wang transformed the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn into a futurist place to present us his autumn/winter 2014 conceptual ready-to-wear collection.

Models dressed in black outfits were gummed up to a giant round turntable that began to rotate releasing heating vents. As the circle started and stopped, the thermo-reactive leather clothes changed colours from orange flashes to bright yellow and blue, or vivid pink depending on the heat exposure. Surprising from Wang who mainly sticks to monochromatic black and white collections.

We are amazed by these innovative textiles and materials which show just how much technology is changing the fashion world!

So if you want to add something new in your wardrobe, take note that the heat-sensitive skirt and top suit start at the price of USD2,550. Consider it an investment – think of it as a 3-in-1 suit!

We loved the shin-guard mules priced from USD995, and the pocket-covered tunics which opened the show, worth USD895.
